Caitlin Hodes is a Program Manager at Illinois Joining Forces, where she manages assistance requests from veterans throughout the state and works with veteran serving organizations to build a statewide referral network. Caitlin came to Illinois Joining Forces as an Americorps VISTA Fellow in September 2015 through New Sector Alliance, an organization that strengthens the talent pipeline for the social sector. Originally from Oak Park, Illinois, she graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans in May 2015. Caitlin majored in psychology and international development and minored in Spanish.
During the spring of 2015, Caitlin interned at the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice, where she assisted attorneys with immigration cases. Caitlin was also an intern in the Vice President’s Office of Correspondence at the White House during the summer of 2014, where she drafted responses to incoming mail and assisted with public engagement events. During the summer of 2013, she worked as a field intern at the ONE Campaign in Washington, DC, where she coordinated initiatives with ONE volunteers throughout the country. Throughout her time at Tulane, Caitlin was heavily involved with community service, working on education, poverty alleviation, and immigration issues. She is very excited to be working in the veteran space, and is committed to helping veterans best connect with available resources.
