Courtney Sanders
Courtney A. Sanders is the Program Manager at Illinois Joining Forces (IJF). In this role, Courtney meticulously coordinates various programs and activities for IJF, contributing significantly to the organization's strategic objectives. Her journey with IJF began in April 2023, marking the continuation of a distinguished career that seamlessly blends expertise from the Veteran space and higher education.
Before her tenure with IJF, Courtney served as the Program Manager for Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) at Catholic Charities. There, she demonstrated exceptional proficiency in managing diverse aspects, including programming, outreach, assessment, crisis intervention, housing counseling, and case management services tailored for homeless veterans and their families. Additionally, Courtney played a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting grant administration for the SSVF program.
Prior to her impactful contributions in the Veteran space, Courtney enjoyed a successful 20-plus year career in higher education. Her roles spanned private and public universities, where she held leadership positions such as Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Dean of Graduate Admissions, and Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing.
Courtney is a proud alumna of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, holding a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Courtney's connection to the military runs deep. As the spouse of an Army Veteran and the mother of four children, including two daughters actively serving in the US Navy, her commitment to IJF is not just a job—it's a passionate calling.
