IJF Team / LaNae Dedmond-Edwards

LaNae Dedmond-Edwards is a native of Washington State and veteran of the WA ARNG. During her service, she was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA and assigned to rear detachment duty for the 792nd CM Co, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). She served honorably for 2.5 years as a 92A Automated Logistics Supply Specialist. Her military decorations include the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.

LaNae joined the Illinois Joining Forces team as a community outreach summer fellow under the New Sector Fellowship Program, in June 2019. Following that, she assumed the role of the Campus Compact Americorps VISTA member, assisting with research and capacity building. She now fulfills the position of Business Operations Analyst. In lieu of her collaborative work at IJF within the veteran community, LaNae continues her dedication to civic engagement and volunteerism as a member of organizations like the Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Religious Studies from Saint Xavier University, and is also a Student Veterans Alliance alumni.
